El Nido Adventure – 2012
Not everyone has the luxury of visiting El Nido. Aside from the monopoly of one airline service (will cost you 7-12k one way on average ticket sale), not everyone can endure the 5-6 hours of travel from Puerto Princesa to El Nido. Plus, the common notion is going there is expensive. Well, true… but my blog last 2010 proves that it can be cheap if you are wise enough on choosing accommodation, food, and tour… thus, this is the sole purpose of my blog, to make your journey easy… 🙂
On island hopping, the first thing you will do is to plan ahead based on your length of stay, budget, and weather.
Tour package will cost you 700-900 per pax. The boat will leave minimum of 4 pax. So if there are no other passengers, you have to pay for total of four which they call “private tour”. For first time visitors, I suggest to grab tour A B C .. these are the tours you will see on the posters or internet. Tour D is rare because what you will see there are just stretch of fine white sand.
I’m a traveler but a photographer at heart.. having been to El Nido before, I know now which destination worth visitng again. In that case, I combined tour A B C in just one tour. Is it possible? Yes.. but not you have to pay extra since each tour package is far from each other and not possible to visit all the islands, only selective ones. We paid 3,400 pesos for the combination tour. Among 19 destination on the packages, I chose 6… here they are
Our first destination. It’s a lagoon divided by rocks with a hole in the center where you can swim to reach the other side. The water is crystal clear, not a beach, but you can step into the sand during low-tide.
I don’t have pictures inside the lagoon because of obvious reason, you have to swim to get inside. 🙂
If I have to choose one destination in El Nido or even in the Philippines, this is the one. I won’t speak much. I’ll let the pictures tell the stories…
For beach lovers, this is a truly gift. Wide stretch of white sand and crystal clear water for swim.
One of the finest destination among the tours in El Nido. I’ve been here few times but was still amazed of its features. A seemingly letter “S” stretch of white sand connecting two islands. Best time to see this feature is during low-tide and you have to climb a small hill for better view.
Some prefer it during low-tide, but I prefer high tide.
El Nido Sandbar
This is a hidden gem. Not a part of usual tour but the boatmen we hire told us about this place. I was hesitant at first but excitement hits me..
A sandbar in the middle of the sea.
The view is outstanding from here.
One of the best beaches in my list. The sand is powdered white and very fine. The view? magnificent!!! I spent longer hours here compare to other destination.
The good thing about this island is they have long table and chairs where you can rest. They sell soda, juice, fresh buko, snacks, etc.. but a bit expensive price (as expected).
There you have it folks, I hope this blog help you in choosing what package tour to pick when in El Nido. My pictures (camera lens acting weird and won’t focus) didn’t give justice of the true beauty of the place. It’s nice to visit these places at least once in your life.
